COVID-19 Alert – CDPAP Enrollment Accomodations are Helping Consumers During COVID-19

posted in: COVID-19 | 0

As the New York State population deals with the challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic, accommodations are being made to allow consumers to enroll to receive CDPAP services while avoiding potential risk of exposure that ordinary enrollment procedures could pose.

For a Medicaid consumer to enroll in CDPAP for the first time, most consumers not already receiving home care must undergo two assessments – one is conducted by NY Medicaid Choice (Maximus – the NY State vendor that screens new enrollees) and the other is conducted by the Medicaid Managed Long Term Care (“MLTC”) plan that the consumer selects. Under ordinary circumstances, these assessments are conducted in person. Consumers are now being allowed to have these assessments conducted over the phone to avoid the risk of exposure.

Please Note: Edison Home Health Care is a Fiscal Intermediary for CDPAP. We do not administer the program. We can help you navigate, but application and enrollment for CDPAP must go through your Local Department of Social Services or Medicaid plan.
